Agriturismo Petrognano is immersed in the heart of Tuscan nature, olive groves and orchards can be reached in 30 minutes by car from Florence old town. The agricultural holding has been family-owned since 1979 and it extends for 100 hectares.
It is characterized by its 1000 olive trees, from which, each November, our extra virgin olive oil is produced. Our olive oil is purchasable on the ground, along with other local gourmets. The harvesting of olives is hand made, according to the rural tradition, in ordr to make a high selection of the raw material.
In the early 2000s, it was carried out the idea of receiving guests from all over the world, together with the idea of creating our Agriturism. The 18th century ancient farmhouse has recently been restored with the use of materials which are typical of the Tuscan houses and it is composed of 6 cozy apartments with an independent entry.
Free WI-Fi and digital TV. The residential area is sorroundend by a big garden with verandas and spaces reserved for the ground-floor apartments and a barbecue area available to guests. From the cabin, one shall enjoy a suggestive scenery , characteristic of the Tuscan hills, with a view of Vallombrosa and the Upper Valdarno.
At the disposal of guests, there is also a restaurant for breakfast and booked-on dinner, a tennis court covered with synthetic grass and a pool sorrounded by wide open spaces, a laundry room with a washing machine and a private parking.
Our olive oil is purchasable on the ground, along with other local gourmets. Our enviroment, entirly available to guests, is the perfect location for those who are looking for total rural relax, for those who love to promenade or to go cycling shoulder-to-shoulder with nature, but it is also the perfect location for those who would rather visit art heritage cities like Florence, Arezzo and Siena. These municipalities can be reached by car or by train from the S. Ellero train station, which is only 1,5 km from the Agriturism. Our privileged spot will permit you to plan daily tours in Chianti and Val d'Orcia.
